Meet Snoop and Sasha
Some children will talk to a dog before they talk to anyone.
Sasha is a children's mentor. Snoop is her dog. Together they work with children in schools, at home and out in the community across South West Hertfordshire.

What we do
The dog gets you in the room. The work happens after that.
Snoop is brilliant at making a child curious enough to come and say hello. What happens next is Sasha's job: reading, confidence, getting back into school, learning to settle.

Meet him, learn how to say hello properly, breathe with him, teach him a trick and find out if you are Snoop ready. Teachers, it doubles as the briefing you would otherwise have to give.
Not a therapy dog
Snoop is a dog mentor.
Call a dog a therapy dog and children ask why they need therapy. They stop coming. A dog mentor is there for everyone in the building, which means nobody gets singled out for spending time with him.
It also means Snoop is allowed to do far more than sit still and be stroked. He can teach counting, listen to reading, and walk a child in through the gate.

A risk assessment written for your site. Staff know what to expect before he arrives.

Snoop arrives calm, on the lead, for a short session
First visits happen at a quiet time. We build from there.
Welfare first
He is a family dog who comes to work.
Short sessions. Always on the lead. A quiet corner, water and his blanket in every setting, and plenty of sleep in between. If a room is not calm, we leave. That is the deal, and it is why he stays the dog everyone wants to see again.
